Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur is the federal capital and most popular city in Malaysia. It is also the seats of Parliament of Malaysia. The modern Kuala Lumpur was founded by Kapitan Yap Ah Loy,who is also the headman of a settlement for the Chinese inhabitant. During the mid-19th century, he developed Kuala Lumpur into a commercial and mining centre, 'Jalan Yap Ah Loy' or Yap Ah Loy road, which is in the heart of Chinatown in Kuala Lumpur, was named after him

Tourism plays an important role in Kuala Lumpur's economy. Tourism here is driven by the city's cultural diversity, relatively low costs and wide gastronomic and shopping variety. The major tourist destinations in Kuala Lumpur include the Merdeka Square, the House of Parliament, the Petaling Street, the National Palace (Istana Negara), the Kuala Lumpur Tower, the National Museum, the Central Market, the National Monument,and religious sites such as the Jamek Mosque and Batu Caves.
